cold weather is here. has anyone found the perfect battery for the tuoldo. i have a 12 amp. thinking of getting a 14 amp. anyone got one. what make and any improvement ?

The Capo uses a Yuasa 14 series battery, YTX14-BS is used with good results - it's a wee bit taller but fit's OK AFAIK

yo koko like bats said, thats what ive got on mine the ytx14-bs ,you cant use the top battery clamp but ive not had any probs as it's quite a tight fit....ooooeeer misssus... windy

I upgraded to a 14 but it was actually shorter than the standard battery as there's a gap between battery/clamp. Think it's the ytz14-sbs? I would upgrade your starter solenoid to a 2nd gen 150amp too ;)

I do believe I have the Yuasa battery above, and better (Yamaha?) starter relay - fitted before I had the bike by previous owner.

However I still could not get my Gen1 started on the weekend at all :(

Do you keep it on a trickle charger/conditioner?

I recommend it but only because I keep mine outside! Want to fire-it-up but it just won't stop snowing! :(

Did u get it started after STiX

Nope. I did have an Oxford Solariser trickle charger which is not working anymore. So I tried & tried Sat and Sun to no avail. In the process I have flattened the battery (nearly anyway still a bit of life). Tried to phone RAC all weekend and couldn't get hold of them at all, so am going to try them Thursday afternoon when I'm off.

Hopefully with a decent battery it'll fire.

Don't fancy that! Also I have to back it out of the garden into the lane and its quite steep. I'd never be able to push it back up if the bump-start failed.
