Has anyone managed to fit a YTX 14 BS battery in a 2004 or 2005 Mille?

I bought one to replace the YTX 12 BS thats in there and it is approx 1 cms higher and won't go in the tray or let me refit the holding plate.

I am sure there is a way to get it in,

On my I '02,all that was needed was a 1/2" spacer on the locking bolt.The extra amperage of a 13'5amp battery over a 10amp gives much better starting.AL

Do any of you guys know if this battery will fit an 00 mille? My battery really struggles, especially if only used on short runs (flat battery in the petrol station down the road from my house, in the pouring rain.......not my finest biking moment)

Ive run the bigger battery on my 02 RSV with no probs. Only thing is you either do away with the battery clamp or make you own (as i did) this because the YTX14BS battery is taller than the stock one.

In that case you are the man with the answer. I want this battery in the smaller stock tray, but how the hell did you get it in. Also there is some sort of switch relay that is sited on the clip tray. What did you do with that?

Sorry dude i cant really answer, my bikes a 02 model and your on about a 04-05 model. I never seen the battery tray of a later model mate, sounds like they are different cos my bigger battery fitted straight in with no probs other than the battery clamp didnt fit. sorry dude.

The YTS 14BS is a better battery too mate :thumbup

Yeah, but the bloody website I ordered off said it did fit and now I can't get the barsteward in. Trouble is it is not filled with acid so I can't send it back.

Goes back to my original question really. The battery fits under the seat etc, it just sits a little up at the top of the tray.

Has anyone worked out a way to get on in an 04?
