Question for you all.
I want to lay-up the Ape for 7 months including removing the battery but what will happen to the Alarm system ? thinking of the alarm internal battery which is required for memory of key codes etc. What happens if this goes flat :dunno
The alarm is a meta M357 TV 2 Hope you can help Ken.

Always thought the batteries were the lithium type long life batteries . Perhaps look on the meta site for more info on your alarm .

If you already have a Thatcham Approved Category 2 engine immobiliser fitted to your bike, then this system from Meta is ideal.

Its a Thatcham 2-1 upgrade, thus adds an alarm to your motorbike and bringing its security status up to full Category 1.

The Meta M357TV2-1 is packed full of features and benefits including ZERO battery drain when in sleep mode, which is great news for those of us fair weather riders, that leave their motorbikes locked away in the winter months. It also comes with a pair of remote controls that are designed to house the bikes ignition key, so there's no need for you to carry a key ring. This system is also designed to be fully water and vibration resistant, so will continue to perform even under the harshest conditions. A built in "user selectable" movement sensor and battery back-up siren provide total protection. Then for added peace of mind, a diagnostic LED, secure over-ride and full manufacturers warranty are provided.
found this little snippet above if that helps any .

Spoke to the guys who back up/maintain the alarm systems,(on behalf of Meta) they tell me It is not recommended to leave this device without back up supplies for this lenght of time. They quote if the internal battery drops its voltage it might /should recover but then you will have to input key codes and this might be difficult with the battery in such a low state of charge if indeed it does recover ? So there you have it Do I or dont I. Bloody alarms. Thanks for your help regards Ken.

I suppose the zero battery drain is the actual bike battery . Well Ken , the safest route is leaving the battery on connected the an optimate while its laid up .

That is what has been decided It will have to stay on the charger, Only problem I will not be around for the winter mths so I really wanted to leave it without but No probs she will just have to look after herself.

Thanks for your reply Ride safe mate Ken.
