Battery issues

Hi. I'm new to Milles. I've heard about the battery going flat on the gen 2 bikes reseting the mileage on the clocks. My question is does the same thing happen when the battery goes flat on a gen 1 bike too?

shouldnt go back to zero as such but will default to KPH etc

As redrat says it will reset the clocks you will lose time, trip etc and mph will reset to kmh but you keep milage (but in km)

It will also make the annoying red light rev limiter reset to 6k
