battery hell

C

camngetit

right i need a new battery so go to battery shop hasnt got a ytz14sbs and bloody pricey too but he has a ytx14bs 12v 12ah 100en so i ask about sae and he says 100en is about the same as 230 sae looking on battery sites and the same battery code has different ratings try to find a converter to change en to sae no joy so will a ytx 14 bs be ok for the mille as some sites show the same battery (varta or yuasa)as 200 to 230 en doin my head in how can they be so different but the same code and same make need to get it tomorrow aaahhh

hiya mate ytz and ytx are different in the way that ytz are sealed batteries from the factory - ytx are unsealed, once u fill it put the sealed top on and it activates it turns to a gel.

en / sae / cca are all different ways of saying the cranking power available from the battery, YTZ generally have a little bit more cranking amps - hence a bit better

however dependant on price / per performance. relating to which one is better
ctx14 in a good state will be no problem at all mate,

mine has a ytx12 on it - never had a problem

thats my opinion

if 100en is the same as 230 sae then i have no prob having the ytx14 he has . its just on 1 site the ytx12 is rated at 180 en so are they labelling them wrong and it should be 180 sae

Just message griff and get him to send u one out !! That's what i will be doing at the end of the month !

trouble is i need it like now as i use the bike every day for work and cant afford for it not to start
