Evening all, I have had it up to here with batteries!!! Can anyone suggest a decent battery for my RSV Factory. I have been told the Motobatt is a good make. The issue I have is no power in my garage and I am unable to trickle charge on an optimate and the issue with the lights coming on once the ignition is switched on doesn't help. Can anyone suggest a good battery that will actually last more than 5 mins please. Cheers.:devious

Give Griff a call, he sells a battery that has a slightly better spec than the Motobatt but as batteries go its a damn good one.
You are on a hiding to nothing though as all batteries will discharge if not on a charger and if very cold that will help the process along no end.

Can you not start it up every couple of days or so ? or get a solar powered charger ?, does the bike have an alarm ?

I havd the same power problem but 6 months ago I paid £15 and fitted a solar trickle charger to the fron of the garage and it works nicely.Just plug the bike in after a ride and No more flat batteries!

Thanks for that can you tell me where you got it from?? Is there a certain voltage charger you need for it to work????.

Bought mine from Maplins - have a look on their site. It will say suitable for cars, bikes etc.

i recommend a Varta TTZ14SBS its a 230 CC

ive used em for a good few years now and the results are excellent!

Thanks very much going to get one this afternoon hopefully the leads are long enough to reach from the outside of the garage to where the bike is, if not I'm sure I will be able to extend them. Thanks again mate it's appreciated.

Yausa YTX14-BS ? Got a bit mair oomph than standard. Slightly taller than the standard but works a treat .

Griff min...is yon Varta one slightly taller one as well like the Yausa?

no buddy there slighty smaller and weight considerably less!

the YTX14 BS is old technology now, theres better batteries with a higher CCa rating , thats the bit that helps protect the sprag clutch on start up!

are you coming to see us at andis?

Griferererrrr

good to know Griff min... as to get the YTX14 to fit (on a T anyroads) you need to remove the wee foam layer at the bottom o the battey box and ditch the retaining clamp. ( the seat holds it well in place wi a bit o the foam inbetween.

Its a sexy "modern" Varta jobbie for me the next time by the soond o it.

worked really well on my bike for the last 4 years , im gonna change i now but never failed me in all that time, and i gotta br honest my bike doesnt get ridden a lot as im out on other folks bikes...

highly recommended!
