hello,
i am in a process of doing this

the question is: do i need to remove this black foam? i think it was there as from factory

yes mate you need to remove the foam and give the underside of the tank a good clean. dont want any nasties getting sucked into the engine!
 
Yes you do. Use a hair dryer to melt the glue. Oh and for what its worth. This mod works.
 
I run the EVO original mod - which the Badgers Box was derived from. It works very well. I tried the RENE copy and that works too but the induction noise got too much after a while.
 
i hope the foam will handle the heat and that there will be no flame coming out of the TBDs burning the tank under my oo. anyway i would do it differently next time - mounting the foam also over the top of th eairbox just where the other part fits. it would give me more space for glueing the foam.
the total cost of solution for now is 3 EUR :) and of course some soap to wash the dirty hands afterwards
