It is with great sadness and no less pain that I announce that there are 1 fewer gen 1 Tuonos on the road today :thumbdown

Mine is suspended in a hedge over a deep ditch off a bend somewhere in North Devon :flip

A short but sweet affair with Aprilia - lets see what happens next...

the bike can be fixed.

All the enjoyment of sorting it (it`s therapy) in the summer months (stop laughing) while the sun is shining.

Drinking a can of your choice and watching your progress.

Get yourself another bike to ride whilst waiting for parts etc.
 
Hope your okay buddy.

Get a crane or the fire brigade on the case to lift it out the hedge.....you could always buy another T and use that one for spares if it's too badly damaged.

As fir the bike,,,,,,,,,,,,,,well it's jist a machine and can be replaced, jist a bit of time will make the difference. :thumbup
 
I can only echo the sentiments stated above and hope you are ok, the metal can kicked straight but we don't tend to respond so well to such treatment.

Oh, just remember, "a man should always have a project"

Is the bike in a repairable state? I hope so. :thumbup

Thanks for all the 'get wells'.
Diagnosis for me: 1 broken wrist, 1 broken rib, a couple of nasty haematoma, 2 broken vertebrae and loads of bruises.
Fix: morphine, surgery tomorrow to put a plate in my arm, morphine, more morphine and bed rest.
Diagnosis for the bike: from what I could see - knackered forks, front wheel, front faring.
Fix: I wish I had time play on it but I've got none. Whatever the insurance company says,
 
Get well soon mate, remember to take the morphine even if you ain't hurting when they ask. :megaphone

thought I lost jnr today but he managed to stay upright :crazy heading up to Thirsk on the A172 to drop the bike in for service when he failed to appear round the bend, when I went back found him parked up on the roadside at the end of a 20 metre skid mark rather shaken:no
the bike had cut out and restarted again but when it started the back wheel locked up, not good at 70+
bike now in Teesdales and jnr at home :yes
 
Where in Devon? - Somewhere between Okehampton and Holsworthy, near Halwill. I got lifted to Derriford in the Air Ambulance. The Police say the bike fell out of the hedge into the ditch below and is now half submerged. It should get recovered on Monday. Not much hope for the bike.

Morphine? every 5 minutes without fail :)

Upright? Yeah, I held it up until the road ran out. Mine was pure misjudgment of the distance to the bend when going to overtake - committed to somthing I couldn't pull off. I reckon in the dry I wold have been okay but still on the line.

Thanks for the kind messages. I'm dozing off into drug induced sleep now ~ not all bad here on the ward...

I have in 55 years of riding come home a few times with helmet but no bike :bawling
 
that's where the best quick roads are' at least you got a trip in a helicopter, get well soon
 
Yep, first proper motorbike crash (hopefully last) AND first helicopter flight in one day! Hopefully next time I'm in a chopper I'll get to see more than just clouds and up a medic's nostrils LOL.

I had the plate fitted in my arm today. Feels good and i'll be walking tomorrow - pain has eased off the chest, back, pelvis and leg.

The experience definitely didn't put me off biking but I learnt some important lessons about judging bendy roads and handling at a bit of speed in the wet. I was totally alert through it all and trying to analyse the incident scientifically - doesn't help everyone but i like to do it.

I'll hopefully get the insurer's diagnosis in a day or two. I expect a write-off. My cousin wants to fix her up regardless but I'm in two minds. Do I really want to be accelerating 0-100mph in no time at all on something that got smacked that hard?
 
Sounds like you've on the mend mucker, at least you will recognise the dangers in the future as you say. Good that it hasn't put you off
