Hello!
Well its the first fill up after the light came on on the 04 tuono I just bought, and immediately as i pulled away it started sputtering, mostly surging off idle.
it ran fine heading out, (though i had just replaced the battery, and everything is in kilometers, and the shift light appears like at 6,000 rpms)
so about the sputtering, it surges and stumbles when going from closed to part throttle. I put in some octane boost and "heet" and rode is till i froze (cold at night here) then it was running better, so I went to a different station and was able to pump in just one more gallon, I noticed around midnight that first gas station was getting its delivery, so maybe I got the bottom of the barrell.
but after my one gallon top off, it started to stumble again.
my previous RSV Mille, never had this problem, it was a 2000 model, but that was also in chicago where we had 93 octane.
So the question, did I get bad gas, or was the prior owner running octane boost in the tank when he sold me the bike?
I would hate to call the guy to ask and either sound stupid, or accusing.
Any experience with tuono motors and gas quality in California please speak up with advice, or just ideas.
Thanks
Douglas
