Back in the day

I have such a boner right now. Going to run down and get working on the shovel again. She was kick only for many years. Starting difficulty was inversely proportional to the beauty of the chick that I wanted to take for a ride. If I wanted to get going NOW, cuz the gal was hawt or there was a crowd, then La Diabla would take 30 kicks at least. If I was leaving by myself and in no particular hurry, three kicks, two to prime, and then the power kick. Lit every time. There is something viscerally pleasing to firing up your bike like that. Trust me.

My Nortons and triumphs used to start on 1st kick. when the yam 500 single (kick start) came out a mate bought oneand thought we would struggle turning it over , yeah , right.

My recent kick start memories are of the KLX. On a motocross track in Doncaster. Fell off-kick kick kick kick """"""""""""" kick kick. Get on , fall off- kick kick etc etc. Get on, fall off- kick kick kick. Heart attack, recover. 30 bikes whizzing round coverin me in top quality Donny *****. Get on ,fall off- kick kick. A 6 lap session and I managed 1. Had at least 2 heart attacks and ate 1 tonne of dirt and my legs were like fookin jelly for days. I will never ride a kick start again.:no

Did anyone see the 3TA to the right of the main vid? I had 1 of those yrs ago and it sounded just like the vid. A ***** to start when hot, but a cracking bike.

I managed to break the button on my first electric start bike - it couldn't handle the weight of my right boot...

You wanna try the Armstrong 500 as once used by the Army. For an extra £20.00 they could have fitted an electric start to stop squaddies getting shot but they didn't, it was crap.

Back in the 70's when I used to race moto x there were a couple of guys raced CCM 650's. They had to take them out onto the road and tow them behind a car to start them. When they were running you could feel the ground vibrate 40 yards away. They were evil machines.
