God I hate these dark nights, but lucky for me we have beach racing here in Mablethiorpe every two weeks, during the winter months.:thumbup

I was up at Mabo a couple of weeks ago,...fookin' top day out.Far too many MX'ers these days, but the road bike classes are the best.
This Triumph won all its races.

The full-on grasstrackers are really quick,....sadly,this beauty got a bit of sea water in the 'lectrics and died during a race.

Its real good spirited stuff, free to watch and cheaps as chips to compete. Its on from around October to end of March, thats when the holiday makers are'nt here. Classes for all ages too, check it out on interweb, Mablethorpe beach racing..Loads of bikes from all over, turn up on race days.

I read an article a while ago in a mag that featured the worlds most successful competition bike. (individual rather than model)

It was a Honda 600 single, beach racer, much in the style of a speedway / grasstrack design.

It does look to be a sport where talent overcomes investment.

There's a big lad that used to post on here, has a few pics on his facebook site of him and a few of his mates on the beach with ickle scooters.
Tried it many yrs ago, good laff

I watched this years ago on the Wirral ... bloody great day out!

World smost successful competition bike is, Neil (boss of honda racing, louth) Tuxworth, he races at the beach all the time...fD

I think he's actually retired now and become one of the organisers.
There was a rumour that his little Honda had more trick HRC bits on it than Kiyo's Fireblade!

Yeah, someone told me that too, and it went like **** of a shovel.. I also love the road going classes, some of them go like stink in a straight line, but you have to laugh when they wont turn...good luck to them, great fun....
