Awful Clatter when starting

Hey up chaps,

The starter motor on my Gen 1 is making an awful clatter when its starting up-is it the starter clutch heading out west or is it something else ?

Any help and advice would be appreciated

Yeah,could be.:dunno
Funny noises are very difficult to diagnose over a computer.Have you got someone local you can take it to for a listen?

If it's a clacking sort of noise, I'd say sprag clutch.
My superduke sounded terminal when trying to start it.
