Arlen Ness One Piece Leathers Advice

A

amb67

Just looking at some one piece leathers on Flea bay and some Arlen Ness ones are looking pretty good. I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can help with.

1. I'm a 40" chest and 34" waist, do I order the 40" set or 42"?
I know some makes of leather come up small and others are spot
on,what's your experience with Arlen Ness?

2. Is the quality any good?

3. What do you reckon to these - Click Me Look good with the bike or too much blue??

4. I reckon I can get them for £215 plus delivery, bargain or not??

I have heard good things about Arlen ness , Its not too much blue and the price seems good, have you checked to see if they are 2nds?
Do you know your size (have you tried arlen ness leathers on) ?

quality is second to none!
i have the exact same suit in white/black and they cost me £600
so i reckon they are a bargain !the price is low because they are 2 designs old

Are you sure your measurments arent the other way round lol

ie

34 inch Chest
40 inch waist

These look pretty good but buying leathers off the web is a bit of minefield size-wise. You really need to try on some AN leathers in a dealer to see if they're the right size for you - it's a lot more than just chest and waist size - how about height, leg length, etc?

Yeah, that's what I'm concerned about, will the legs be short/long enough, will the arms be the right length etc...

Tim, that's what I like about you - **** all!!!!

PS. Do you think my new leathers will look good on me, lost a few pounds recently. LOL

:doug

I may go for the 42" and grow in to them. LOL

Bargain if you can get them for that price AMB.:devious

A lot of the top racers use them or have used them. BAYLISS,TOSELAND, BIAGGI, XAUS. Have all used the brand but obviously a higher spec for them.

You would have to take a bit of a gamble if you havent tried the brand name for size.

Go for the 42"... I have the same leathers in black/white in a 42"
I'm 5`10" 40" chest and 34" waist and they fit me great.
Here's a couple of pictures I found on the web of the fit!.......

Cheers V60,

I'm 5'9" on a good day so reckon 42" would allow for growth if you know what I mean!! LOL

Emailed the guy to ask for arm measurements etc....

Looking good for £215!!!!

You cannot go wrong with Arlen Ness, the quality is probably the best on the market at the moment, we had Nakano's suit in our store last summer (the one he crash @ 200mph in) and it was nothing more than a few scuffs, the quality of the suit was exactly the same as a suit off the peg, bloody bargin at that price too, bite his arm off mate!

Cheers V Senna that's about sealed it for me, never realised he was wearing Arlen Ness leathers for that off.

Had heard people say they was pretty good quality but I don't know anyone that actually has a set.

Thanks for your input guys, hopefully I'll have a set soon!!

Dunno about the full leathers, but I have Arlen Ness leather jacket.
Size 58 Eur, but really it is more like 56.
Mine is Arlen Ness 5920

I have this nakano suit, bought it just a week ago so havent tried it that much(winter here), but from what a tried in the garage and just sitting on the bike its great, very comfortable, everything is where it should be and its also very light. Fast to put on/off, lots of stretch material and I can go on :)... Leathers usualy need some running in to fit you perfectly, but this is great right out of the box.

I once tried one Berik (same stuff as Arlen ness) suit and when I put it on I just knew I had to have it.

But try it first, doesnt have to be the same suit, just that its something from arlen ness/berik, so that you will see if the design fits you, every manufacturer has diferent design and you have to try which is the best for you, dont buy randomly :D

did you get them alan?

im looking into getting some new leathers myself but dont really know where to start.

Im used to 2 peice suits rather than 1 peice.

2 piece are usually more ideal for road riding, touring and such, 1 piece for fast road and ofcourse track days etc.

Arlen ness and Berik are 2 seperate companies but made in the same factorys with the same materials so 'technically' there the same, in terms of quality theres no difference, also the Wolf kangaroo range is also made in the same factory.

I would also recommend looking at a fairly new brand called Rev'it! www.revit.eu its a manufacturer from Holland, I've actually ridden (and crashed lol) in one of there suits @ 80 odd mph and its barely scuffed, really pleased with it, comfortable as anything really soft leather straight off the peg.

My Arlen Ness are fantastic but go for the bigger size!!!! They are the most comfortable leathers I've ever worn and mould to me very well.

I din't think you willl be dissapointed.

If you have the chance to go to a retailer and try them first, do it. That's the only way to be sure you are getting exactly what you want/need.

I managed to get a set of Wolf leathers in the end from Steve @ the Essex Bike Leather centre.

They are a perfect fit and he did me a cracking deal on them, he sells on Ebay.
