2002 RSV... aftermarket Evolution chip... ECU wire cut... airbox derestricted but standard filter... standard exhaust... starts/runs fine !!

if bike warmed up with standard can & then stick GP Can... seems to start/run fine... but leave it till its cold... ie next morning to go to work & it wont start & bike smells flooded... with & without removable baffle inserted... take GP Can off & reeks of petrol... spark plugs wet... when i dry them & fit standard can again... all fine again !?

Whats happening... thought race cans run leaner or is fuel injection over compensating on its own accord & why... could it be ECU cut wire & aftermarket chip !?

maybe lack of back pressure of GP Can causing the problem as its tiny compared to the original !?

im very confused... HELP... i want my bike to roar... lol !!

anyone want too sell their standard RP58 chip !?

which pt no evo chip do you have ? There a 3 for different engine spec's.

Has the FI been setup since the new chip/Can. It's going to have a fueling affect so Tb's etc should be re checked after changing.

Hi Spoonz... this is the chip !?

couple of observations.

1. not sure that is a genuine evo chip.

2. 2002/03 motor has a different model Evo chip to earlier bikes due to higher fuel pressure and different valve sizes.

You should have chip pt no 95301, pre 02 had 95300. As that is labeled 2001 models it possibly the wrong chip. Evo Chips have 2 maps.

Whether it's your main problem is hard to say.

Evo only sell the Factory pro developed chip under the Evo banner now.
Parts numbers i qouted are for the Evo sold chip as developed by Factory Pro.

How long/if they did their own chip before that i don't know but how it could be sold as all years with the variations in engine spec between 98 and 2003 i know not. :dunno

Nope as you can see it goes directly into the white socket on the MB.

They probably did sell Bin files from who knows where at some point

They seem to have dramtically slimmed their product range recently. Ken Zeller got a bit of stick on Af1 over some problems with their stuff so that may be why.
