i have the old cant find neutral prob with my 08 mille r its a total arse pain, but its fine while riding and no slips, biting point is right at the last half inch with lever fully adjusted to max also played with the wee plunger going into the master cylinder and still no use .im due a oil change about now and i know theres too much oil in the engine its well up the tube and i mean well up lol (last owner must have done this) i was told the 08 model should have the mod jet fitted ,but how do i know if it has or not ? my mille r 02 model is a pure joy clutch is great neutral dead easy to get and gearbox mint ,i just want the same for my 08 bike any ideas from you guys would be handy .

air in the system
plunger incorrectly set
knackered m/c
leaky s/c

any of the above.

if it were me, I'd start with the ones that don't cost any money to fix :)

tbh, these g/boxes are not much cop at dropping into N

it's easier if you do it on the fly (while the bikes still rolling) or, hook it up to 2nd, and then a gentle tap down into N usually does the trick.

The clutch jet issue was on earlier models. Anything before 2006 had an 0.6 jet, which when changed to an 0.4 made the bike much easier to find neutral. Shouldn't be an issue on your '08 model...

I've got an 05 model and carried out the jet swap, it made getting gears easier but still a pain to get nuetral once i've been riding for a few minutes, can only suggest that you get the oil level sorted. I'm no mechanic so don't quote me on this, but it was my understanding that altering the size of the jet to the later model, (as fitted to a bike of your year) reduced the oil pressure slightly, if you are running to much oil this may be having an effect, other than that you could possibly bleed your clutch and check the seals on the slave cylinder.

Don't know if this works for everyone but deffo for me just blip the throttle at the same time as trying to engage neutral and in she goes

biff!

bleed the clutch at the nipple on the clutch master cylinder for about 3-4 pumps and that will fix it im positive!

Tifa is on the money!!

let us know how you go , its real easy i promise!
