Are RSV's prone to leaks??

I fixed the last leak on my RSV (as per previous thread), I replaced the 'spring clip' with a jubilee clip.
However, after leaving the bike running in my garage for a bit yesterday, I came back to more coolant on the garage lino!! :angry
It's not leaking from the same place.
The bike got up to around 78C running temp, it wasn't overheating (the fans hadn't come on)
I haven't had time to whip the fairing off and see whether it's a leak or an overflow.
Are they leaky bikes at the best of times, or should I expect zero coolant loss?? :confused

Not had any probs leak wise with my Gen 2 Factory, don't think there prone to any probs leak wise.

Hmm, must be another blown spring clip then.
Oh well, fairing off time!!

I've had a little leak from the crap clip but nothing since replacing it ( so far) trouble with pressure systems liquid will always find the next weak point. Definitely worth a proper look behind the plastics.

Did you swap the clips around the thermostat housing behind the coolant reservoir?

I think they were all changed I had a garage do it last year when she had the coolant replaced. Not had anymore problems so I would imagine he done them all.

if your bike "like mine" is fitted with frame bobbins {mushrooms} the nearside bobbin had wore a tiny hole in my alloy coolant pipe.

Haven't had a chance to whip the fairing off yet.
But I think I'll change as many clips as I can easily reach for jubilees.

Right, whipped the fairing off.
Hard to tell where any new leak is coming from, although there was a drip of coolant hanging from a pipe coming from/to the thermostat.
And the thermostat itself has white furry residue suggesting it's leaked before.
It's jubilee clips around the thermostat already.
I also noticed small pipe coming from oil cooler on LH side of bike had a drip of oil.
Do you think I should just replace the spring clip there, or the whole pipe?
I'm concerned that I could crush the pipe if I use a jubilee, the diameter is so small.

The coolant and oil pipes on my 2003 were looking tired so I replaced with samco and other matching pipes from local auto factors (non-AP).
I used correct hose clips (screw type). Standard jubilee will bite into the hose material.
Samco recommend 6Nm for their hose clips.

Thanks, I'm aware I need to be careful and not use any old jubilee clips.
I go for one that say are safe for silicone pipes.
Out of interest, how do you torque hose clips?
A torque wrench with a small socket, or do you get screwdrivers with torque settings?
