Just changing oil and filter the noo. Gonna clean the wee filter thats on bottom of oil tank so need to remove hose. It says in manual that the clips for this are not re-usable and to get a new one, I have the correct tool for removing and thought they could be used again, It also says not to replace with a jubillee clip, anybody know why not ?

Cheers

The click clips are not re-usable, even if you take them off with the correct clamp pliers, they still deform.

I think that just about everybody have gone over to jubilee clips by now, and there have been no reported issues afaik.

However, just a few points...if you swap to jubilee, make sure it's a stainless one, the ordinary plated one will rust easily given where it's situated. And secondly, don't overtighten it (this I believe is the reason why Aprilia recommend the clic clamp...as well as selling an extra few ££'s worth of spares)...just nip it up tight enough so that it doesn't cut into the rubber hose, make sure it's located correctly behind the gland (the swollen part of the tube the hose goes over)and you'll be fine.

Tifa,

Cheers for that. Closer look at the clamp and its not he type I thought it was so not re-usable. Was scratching me head wandering why a jubilee clip would not do the job so now can go ahead, well when I get a stainless one, all the ones I have left are the self rusting type doh.
