Hello all,

I put a race pipe and chip (genuine Aprilia) on the bike last night and they are marked as RSV Titanium Evo which a mate of mine bought a few years ago from the local Aprilia dealers. The bike turns over but wont fire so I put the original chip back in and it fired straight up. Race chip is basically a chip on top of another circuit board that has 2 smaller chips on it so I put the complete thing in. Anyone know if Im meant to just put the actual chip in or if as I thought the thing is knackered ?

Thanks

Chip probably knackered as they're supposed to be interchangeable. You do put it in the same slot the other one came out of. My bike wasn't running right after a service with te race chip in which has been in since Ive had the bike. Tried the original one in which I took with me on a forum meet and the bike wouldnt start. Just get another chip off eBay. They're cheap enough.

Cheers Bay, chip went in as it should and I matched the notches on the correct side. Does it really make much difference as I have ran carb fed bikes in the past with race pipes without changing jetting with no probs.

I had this when I put the new Evo (To me) too.. Took it out and put standard Prilla one in and still wouldn't fire, turned ignition on and off a few times and the kill switch too and it fired up. Put the Evo chip back in and that fired up too...

Dunno why but it worked, I haven't ridden it yet as it's just rained for 2 days solid!!

I'm not that technically minded to know what a difference it makes to be honest. I run a race chip with baffled race exhaust but I think stix runs a race pipe with standard chip. Someone will know
