Apes Aint Unreliable - Cars Are

Well i bought my Rsv just before crimbo, and read loads of stories bout how bad the electrics were, the sprag clutches, the brakes, the mods ect.

Then had to endure the ripping from my jap il4 mates about how bad the finish is and how unrelible they were.

Well now just completed my 6000th mile, and am very pleased to announce it is still as good as the day i got her, only aot more modded, and has been 100% reliable:thumbup

Shame i couldnt say the same as the 2 cars i have managed to kill.

My so called undestructable mitsubishi decided to blow its gearbox to bits, so that went, and was replaced by a vauxhall vectra, i went for the 2.5 v6, supposed to be undestructable, and after only 2 months, yep, you guessed it. Its totally bolloxed it engine, so its going as well.

Tried to talk the missus into letting me buy a tuono as my second form of transport, but she aint having none of it:rant

what mitsubishi was it fella?
my faithfull old shogun is like a tank,keeps goin forever.
as does my golf gt tdi,lol,shame i have no fookn bike yet!
had a 2.5v6 vectra,but didnt like it,was slow yet used as much fuel as my old 400bhp subaru impreza!!! least in the scoob,i knew were the fuel was goin.
bikes are ace tho,cheap to run,tax,mot and maintain compared to even cheap cars.

Mitsi was a galant, known problem is the gearboxes, lovely car to drive, but once it was fooked, it had to go.

Vectra fuel, yeah, 19mpg is ****, but bags of torque, which was what i wanted as i had planned to get a boat and wanted to be able to tow it.

Now sacked the boat idea for the moment, so need a car to get to work and back on wet days, and take the dogs down the beach, so looking at nissan almera / toyota celica.

toyota should be reliable buddy,better reliability than honda iirc.
cant beat a vw tho lol.
my mk4 vw tdi is the 150bhp sports diesel,chipped and re mapped for £300 to nearly 200bhp and 340lbft torque.and still 55mpg+.or the likewise variant from seat/audi.

Me, i fookin hate vw's, used to work in a workshop specialising in old classic mg's which was great, until the boss restored a old '66 split screen camper, then joined the local veedub club and started bringing in ****** beetles and vans, and within 6 months thats was all we were doing, so i jacked it in.

The things are just nasty to work on, plain and simple, and i never want to have one.

So gonna try a nissan or toyota next, see how long that can last me:doug
