Has anyone tried the Aprilia Performance rear sets (they allow use of re-mounted existing rear master cylinder) and if so what are they like?

Thanks,

people who've fitted them have reported having an much improved back brake as well as the seating position being comfy :thumbup for the money you can't go wrong :thumbup

They have a fair few options for peg location, up / down as well as forward / backwards. Also, the mastercylinder relocation is a boon, but also the actual rear brake lever itself is better, so is a double bubble bonus ;)

Occassionally they come up for sale second hand (Its how I could afford to get some) so keep eyes out, matey, or stick a wanted post up if you defo decide to go for some :)

If you want ideas / options of how to secure the reservoir, then have a looksie in my "Update" thread or give me a shout and I'll give you a couple of ideas, mate. Alternatively, as I'm near Newbury, IF you get some, you could simply give me a shout and pop pver and I'll help you with them. :)

I've just fitted Gilles to mine and the back brake is much better, picked these up off fleebay for £140. I got around the rear brake reservoir problem with an HCR (plastic tube) modification. You'll hear loads of pointless reasons for the HCR mod, but mine was simply that I didn't have the bracket to mount the original reservoir and the HCR mod was cheeper :thumbup

Leepants, I'd like to see a pic of the AP rearsets fitted.

For me, its all about how much of either black or silver you have on your bike and whether you want to pic out "highlghts" (eg swingarm / frame) or "match", ie to go with all the other dark bits. I went for silver for 2 reasons - 1. They were for sale at that time (lol) and I didn't want any more black, especially that low down as there is none on my bike ;) 2. They kind of accentuate teh frame and swingarm. And they were 2nd hand and the blokey gave me a good deal on them :)

I have them fitted on mine and love them far better then the rest I've seen for the price

Gorgeous.

I think I'll the get computer paintbrush out and play with the black and alloy variants to nail it. Thanks for all your help.

Crazy Leg5 how is the HCR brake res on MOT is it ok? Just fitted mine and don't know if it'll go through, heard mixed opinions.

Not a clue how it is as I've only just put it on but I'm sure it won't be a problem as there are a few about just make sure it's fitted correctly

To me its all about the volume, as the master cylinder uses a certain amount, as does the caliper. Pressure should be no issue, but tis teh volume that it moves ;)

In my mind, tbh, don't know for fact, but logically thats how I see it. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong :)
