Anyone out there braving the cold?

Never had any problem going out in crazy weather, but the T is off the road at the mo so thats that. Rode to the bike shop in driving snow one time to get the brakes fixed. Just goes to show you just need to ride to the conditions.

Not even been out in the car. I've ventured out running but that's as extreme as it's got.

They hardly ever grit the roads over here in the emerald isle so we don't get bike cancer like the uk. If i had to clean for 2 hours after every spin i'd prob get the bus! Got a drive into the mt for xmas ahead of me thats looking fairly grim!

I ventured out last weekend, only to pick up my T from having it serviced. The snow covered car park should have put me off but I hadn't ridden for a couple of weeks and was getting itchy. It wasn't fun, and I won't be going out until it melts.

The last few winters I've been car-less so had no choice but to commute on a bike but a few spills last year made the decision to get another car an easy one. Donuts in a crappy £500 Mercedes in the icy car park at work isn't as much fun as riding but a good wintery substitute.

Bring on the snow, sent home early from work last night. 30 minute drive turned in to 90 mins. This turd in his Nissan 350z trying to get up a hill was useless. Stopped my car, rolled down the window and said "turn off ya traction control" Bugger me it worked. He had been there for 30 mins spinning his rear wheels.

This was quickly followed by the Porsche Cayene driver doing 30 mph. Mind you it was reading -12 on the dashboard.

I went over to Sheffield on Teus for the lad (Uni, Clever pig) . Two 4x4 doing around 30mph outside lane and nothing on inside on A66 towards M62 WTF, I thought 4x4 were invincible?? .
Went on inside to pass ,
There are some dozy B*****ds around .
I used to tramp around as a wagon driver before I kind of retired.

With the right gear, you shouldn't be put-off riding in the cold but riding when icy/snowy is just mental! :eek

Where's the fun in that? :dunno

Aye, but how many morons do ya see driving 4x4 and haven't got a clue how to use it correctly........ The housewife taking kids to school.

Wanna try a suzuki sx4 before they go on to bigger things.

Wanna stay indoors.

Snowing again, -20C, and it's looking to get worse. The wind is picking up and the barometer is falling. I am soooooo jonesing for a ride.

Amanda and I got invited to the Scottish Ducati owners crimbo lunch party by my mate last Sunday, as he was wanting company for the run. It was held in Aviemore, left home at 9am. 140miles and it took us 4 and a half bloody hours to get there, 5hrs back, the roads were pretty mental all the way. A couple of feet snow in the town itself made it lovely and chrismassy feeling....but no-one turned up on a bike! Wimps, lol! Obviously, I would have taken the Tuono but I didnt want to show them up. :lol

Like sensible people we decided to go to the cinema in Inveness to catch Avatar 3D,seeing as we were passing, so we didn't get home til 3am! All in, an 18hour lunchbreak!

There's no way I'll take the bike out in the snow.
I've only riden once in snow and that was enough - **** that!

Sounds like a braw day, haggis. I looked at the side of the house and there is approximately 40 cm of snow on top of them. I need to get them into a warm storage facility. The T is in the shed, and sometime this week, now that the hols are over, I've got to get started on her clean up.
