Late 03 and 04 bikes were prone to splitting at the front lower bracket where it is brazed to the oil tank, easy fix, did mine when i bought my 04 factory, take tank off, thoroughly clean it and then scrape paint away from the leak area, roughen the surface and wipe with meths to clean properly, heat the leak are with a good hot hairdryer or similar, then spread some rapid araldite on, the heat makes it very runny and it will seep into the leak/crack and set very quickly, trying to braze it is a bit iffy as the metal is thin, the tank is not under pressure, mine has been fine for 12k miles since i did mine.
It's not a big problem, an hours work at the most:thumbup
