Anyone Else Bang Their Shins

B

Beanie

Just fitted new frame crash bungs and noticed that each time i go to move the sidestand i end up banging my shin on the bung, i know i'll probalbly get used to it, but does anyone else find this with theirs:dunno

I would take them off if i were you. I crashed on my SV1000S and had two lovely brusies on my kneees from the bungs. and the bike was still written off. think of your shins if you were to be unlucky. think what happened to barry sheen's shins....

It will prevent a slow speed drop damaging your pride and joy.:thumbup

This is a 110mph get off, check all the bungs on the right hand side including the spindle ones, if i did not have bungs on it would have done a shed load more damage to my bike, radiators, oil cooler, engine casing, bottom of fork legs, swingarm just to mention a few of the more major items, worth putting up with IMO, you actually get used to them and forget they are there after a bit:thumbup

Fair point badger and I'd agree with you for track riding as you're much more likely to crash on track. Believe me I know. I couldn't say sunny side up if my life depended on it. But for the road. That's what protected no claims are for.

Funny you should mention that,on my road bike, i refuse to put them on it for looks, but my bike is insured fully comp and protected ncb, but if it was not then i would deffo fit bungs etc. in case i had a spill and had to foot the bill myself:thumbup

Guys, the loops you have to go through for insurance payout is definetly an incentive to fit them so that you do not have to do any repairs. My insurance rightly deducted my excess, which I am trying to get from the third party, but they are refusing to do it, and I am having to take them to court.
Insurance companies are just the scum of the earth...
