As title, has anyone done this on the 2000 on, fitted the older boot, with or without an airbox mod?

well worth fitting the pre 2001 model boot, but you really want to mod the airbox as well if not already done, get as much cooled air (which is denser) forced in there from the front of the bike as you can, if you go out on a chilly morning you will notice the bike runs crisper, this is the cold dense air which gives this better performance, you may well notice on really hot days the bike does not seem to have as much power either, again this is due to heat.
Therefore it is important if you want more power to get as much cool air into the airbox as you can.:thumbup
