I'm pretty sure I knew I wasn't the only person riding one , but like mumbo-jumbo said I just wondered if anybody knew how many (R) models were produced in 2000. Thanks.

It wasn't a limited edition so they built as many as dealers were ordering. I was one of the first in the UK to get one in 2000 (ordered Nov 1999 at Bike show) and the Aprilia Rep said they had orders for over 100 by delivery time in the UK (Feb 2000) Aprilia were fairly new players in the US market around then so the number imported to the USA may have been fairly small but it sold quite well across Europe.
