Hi folks,

The battery on my 2003 Gen 1 is now not holding charge & as it was on the bike when I bought it 4 months ago, its age etc is unknown.

Given the wealth of experience here, any pointers for bad 'uns to steer clear of?

Bike is kept in locked garage, ridden once or twice a week, no alarm or imob fitted to drain batt when not in use.

A battery optimiser will be on the cards along with new battery.

All comments gratefully received.

Mik,
I am sure there is a load of people on here that can assist, but do your self a favour by introducing yourself before diving straight in with questions.

A little bit of background will go a long way.

I'm a Yuasa man these days. Keep it on an optimate and yer aye ready tae rock. Like OT say's,best tae doff yer cap first aff tho min. Welcome anyhow.

The kickstart idea is not a bad one as my other bike is a 1950 Vincent Black Shadow, 1000cc, Vee twin with kickstart so my right leg is well developed :)

I have a Shorai in my Buell. The Tuono is new so no need for a battery yet. It's great hold's it's charge, and weighs about 4 lbs less then OEM.
