hi guys,

Brand new to owning an aprilia, picked up a 2008 rsv1000r with 1400 on it. The bike came with leo vince pipes and a k&n filter. Future plans are to install a power comander 5 and redo the sprockets. Any suggestions to other mods or sprocket/chain sizes would be aprreciated

Quick search, matey, and all will be answered! :)

Likely the chip has already been changed, if not Gabbro (IIRC) or DrRossi can do you a chip, so ne real need for a PC5, unless you're busting to spend money!! ;)

Give it to me ... You may not feel good about it but I will enough for both of us ... You did say ANY input ;)
Chip yes PC5 leave til later only then if you have done some heavy mods. Not sure about the sidestands on that model. I have a Falco so can be excused for not knowing

08 don't have Eprom's !! They use a completely different ECU unit which will have to have the Map 2 changed over if not already done when the mufflers were put on . Best all round gear 16 / 43 stick to standard 525 chain size as well .

+1 to what Sensie says - and if you're in the UK call Griff @ aprilia performance on 01827 285500 and ask him for the evo airbox kit - it opens up your airbox by getting rid of the lid <- poet innit :D or if in the US then AF1 on Toll-free: 877-626-3966

Deacs :thumbup

just find the answers to your questions here on the forum. you are neither the first and unfortunately nor the last to ask the same **** over and over again

Pc5 s are for newer bikes usually 2009 onwards a pc3 will do,best get a custom map for the cans and filter but put old tyres on as the dyno will eat them(buggered a nearly new set once)i dropped a tooth on the front and put two on the back ,talon sprocks are the griffs prefered choice and tsubaki chain(all good for keeping bhp to the wheel)you willlose about 20mph on top but the grin in getting there on the back wheel makes up for it and the gearing change willl make her easier to ride in town too....if you feel up to it bag yourself a quickshifter (great fun) a must for the track....and ignore the comments before thats why forums are hear to get help so ask away m8

thanks guys for the input, cant wait to start doing some of these mods. the bike is already way too much fun but i only see it improving from here on out...

As above, if you're in the UK then Griff at Aprilia Performance or Mark at X P S, if you're in the states then AF1 :thumbup2

You need to open an account on a picture hosting site (I use photobucket), upload your pictures to there and copy the image code then past the code into your post. Hope that helps.

I can sort you some prices for the chain and sprockets, do you want steel or aluminium sprockets and do you have any preference on chain make?

Cheers

Mark
