Just wondering what you lads are using for coolant and what is recommended, decided to do a full service while the weather is crap and I've got a week or two off work :D

Halfords 5 year life coolant for aluminium engines.

Works out at about £20 for 5 litres - Buy it Here

Make sure you mix it up before you pour it in to the bike, I mix it so that it's good to go down to around -34 degrees C which is usually around a 60/40 mix in favour of water.

Best to get yourself a coolant tester mate as too much or too little coolant is bad for the engine.

same as amb m8, halfords 4 me 60/40 mix, also gona do an oil and filter change whilst shes away 4 the winter!

I use Putoline coolant NF which is good to -38 so if I ever take the bike to Canada it should be ok. :thumbup

cheers amb, will get some of that , forgot I have a halfords trade card as well so should get a good bit knocked off.:devious:thumbup

Go to cookies and buy some red antifreeze and save yourself some coin.
Concentrated antifreeze is what it is, Halfords is no special antifreeze but the price is.
Blue 1 yr life
Green 3 yr life
Red 5 yr life
ALL modern antifreezes cater for steel and aluminium blocks
