Hi all,

I'm sure I've seen this somewhere on here but can't find it, so I'll ask again, What are the beast tyre for my gen 2 Tuono, must be good in wet and dry with good to excellent wear.

Cheers

You'll get a dozen or more different answers to that question I am sure, and yes it gets asked over and over.

However, most people these days seem to go for Dunlop Sportsmarts/Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs‎/Pirelli Supercorsas etc. etc.

I say go Maxxis Diamonds ;)

I have Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs‎ and although they are alright, I want better was thinking of qualifier 2's or a pirrelli of somesort, had BT023's on my zx6 and they are awesome but I like to try different tyres out, not keen on Avon's, oh and have to be able on the track.

No need to shout.

"Better" than the PP 2CT?

in what way?

more grip?
more miles?

My 2CT's are grippier than Liz's BT023's - try the super soft Pirelli's if you want really sticky rubber

Metzeler M5

Good for track and road, good grip wet and dry. Heat up quickly. Don't know about mileage as only had them on a couple of months. Replaced Michelin PP2CT.

I like them.

And you can try wearing out the elephant!!

ive bt023 on the front when I bought the bike and wasn't expecting much, but have to say it is ace, feels really planted for a sports touring tyre, plus will give good mileage

i think these days most tyres are better than we are so just pick some and try em out, i've just put pilot power pures on and they seem good to me.
Having said that Rusty's not too impressed !!

Shout???

They lasted 1500 miles on my zx6 but the 2ct's feel better on the T I think I'll try Dunlop or pirrelli's.

Corsa 111's. Got 3k out of the back, and grip very well.
But as Dave B says, most tyres are better than us. 10 yrs ago was a different ball game, but now sports touring tyres as brilliant. I know a bloke with an R1 who uses pilot road 2's, and has no chicken strips

I think a lot of it can be psychological, I remember colin edwards lapping sepang only 8 seconds slower on pilot 2ct's than full race slicks on an M1, and you should watch the bridgestone video of ron haslem on bt023's on the bridgestone website,

its all down to what you feel comfortable with, I know I was faster on an 89 gsxr 750 with old worn out continental's than I am now, just because I was younger and braver

thir awe good these days S min..been said a hunner times...an as the loons say its doon tae personal choice and the type o ridin ye intend dae tae the maist o...

heres good general purpose tyre tae consider...handles awe sorts o conditions...
