another twin exhaust question - pipe diameter??

Hello again people

As it seems my deal on some shotguns appears to have fallen through I am considering my own twin high rise (renegade style) system using carbon scorpion cans.

My questions is,

What would be the best diameter for the pipes routing out to the mufflers, I could go anything from around 38-58mm approx.

Would there be any benifit in using the larger diameter pipe or could that hinder performance on the system.

Pete,

the full evo type systems are usually 60mm (free'er flowing) but if you get yourself a slip-on - my experience has been that they are usually the same diam as the headers (52mm on my r1).

This is only my experience and the link would need to be tapered or stepped to be bigger or smaller but with bigget it's probably not a real issue as it's not restricting the flow with meterial.

However

being that I have an over active imagination

whether or not it causes some sort of vortice' effect in the air flow is something a rather clever person who has intricate knowledge of flow dianamics would need to answer ....................... or someone with a less "over" active mind

I am guessing going with the standard 2" pipe should be ok, perhaps I can find someone with a Renagade/Gianelli system and quiz them.
