Another sprag clutch Question

You dont need the circlip with the BMW sprag, just remember to put it in round the other way from the Aprilia one. :thumbup
 
I have rebuild it so it goes the same way as aprilia one. I heard that will work also.

Oh yes its fubarred, youll be needing the sprag housing as well and you best check the sprag gear ....especially with damage like that.:eek:

I have a new housing. The gear looks ok enough, some wear marks on the OD and the ID is just on the limit. but it lock up fine when i hand tested it with the new housing and sprag. Think it will work fine when i put it on the bike. I am not going to buy a new if it start ok and has no strange noises. Should i put some motor oil on the sprag and the brass surface on the gear before i mount it back on the bike?
 
Ok guys, the job is done. Changed the sprag clutch, sprag housing and the main gear. I also changed a fuel hose witch was leaking like hell, and a new YTX14-BS battery. Put on the ignition, full fast idle and pushed the start button, bang started easy like a champ right away, man i was happy :doug Thanks alot to this forum who has helped me alot....cheers guys.
