Another Quick Question

Well according to my trip/ODO we covered exactly 0.0 miles on the 1 hour ride home and we did it all at 0mph

I'm trying to figure out if it's the clocks that are knackered or just the speed sensor. However to work this out I need to know if the speed sensor also does the mileage calculation, anybody know?

I've looked in the service manual but all that did was tell me that it was a "Vehicle Speed Sensor" and not whether it calculates mileage or not.

probably the sensor...its down by the rear caliper

That's what I'm thinking but I just wanted to know if anybody knows for sure if it does the mileage calculation as well

yep..its the only sensor that measures speed/mileage etc...

Sorry for delay but this is something people might want to have a quick check of.

The speedo cable had got a bit too close to the crank casing and it had melted the cable. I assume the heat travelled along the wires and fried the sensor.

When the chap at the garage put the new cable on he made sure he routed it away from the crank (as much as possible) and all looks good
