I've just finished a 310 mile ride back from Scotland on my new RSVR. I bought it there and rode it back to Birmingham, finishing my journey to Devon tomorrow. I've got a 7500 mile, 2008, white one. I'm loving it so far, I'll let you know tomorrow how I like it in the rain! It's got a black screen which seems to cause massive problems reading the speedo - the white tank reflects in it, preventing me from reading the speed easily unless the sun is directly on the instruments. Any recommendations for a replacement clear screen? Or do they all do this? It's pretty bad and I didn't see any mention of this problem when researching the bike. The back brake doesn't work - not unusual I know, so look out for me begging for help bleeding it - that seems to be the only cure, is that right?
Everything else seems great so far, although wearing a heavy rucksack on the ride contributed to a sore derriere - hardly unexpected after 300+ miles.
Fuel seems pretty good - what do you guys get from a tank?
Oh, it's got the road legal akropovich cans and I have the baffles - but no screws to secure them. Anyone know a source for these? I will probably never want to fit them but just in case...
Last thing (for now!) - the guy I bought it from has lost the owner's handbook. He promised to send it on if he finds it but is there another source? I know there's a pdf but I'd like an original. Oh, one more thing - how much are extra keys?
