just thought i should say hi, had my 2008 factory from new best bike I've had so far (waiting to try the v4) been riding for more years than i can remember, thought i would share a bit of trouble i had recently which may help some of you.
had no problems with the bike until recently when riding lane 3 on the motorway bike cut out, dash showing "ECU unplugged" symbol just managed to freewheel to hard shoulder bike wouldn't start got a mate to pick me up and get me home. started fine no fault codes (just the brown stain in me pants) tried a couple of dealers who didn't have a clue. :bawling:bawling:bawling
managed to find Griff from aprilia performance who talk me though some stuff to look for.
so all fixed now thanks to Griff.
what i found either side of the engine by the earthing points inside the wiring loom were 5-6 wires twisted together with a blob of solder holding them together in a bit of tape. a couple of heavy duty crimps and some heat shrink later, now back on the road happy days.
sorry to go on a bit but hope it helps some, as it was getting quite serious i started looking at bloody Honda's for Christ sake
