Another dealer bites the dust ...

Just so you know, as of any minute now, Motts in Basingstoke is ceasing to be an Aprilia dealership. Apparently they're fed up with being messed around and not getting the V4.
Still be doing parts and servicing for previous models.

And another one down

And another one down

Another one bites the dust.

Like i mentioned in an eariler post my local Bike shop has just pulled out of Aprilia dealership due to the very same reasons stated above.

Seems dealers are dropping like flys, their just sick of being messed about time and time again!

Motts should just shut the doors and never open again,

Their service is *****, i had to put up with them for my first 5 years of riding as they used to be the only bike shop for 20 miles.

Last straw was when i took my brand new bandit to them to get a new tyre fitted, and the **** gouged the rim 1/2 way round on one side and tried to cover it up with some paint.

I rode the bike back to my parents and started washing it, where the paint came off and the damage came to light.

After a load of calls with them telling me it was already damaged, yeah right, on a bike with less than 3000 miles on it, and never having any work done to it apart from the servicing by ****** city. they still demanded i took the bike to them to see what the damage was.

Numerous threats of legal action ect, finally had the old man there tell rob ( son of boss) to get me a new wheel, but it still took 3 weeks to sort out.

Suprised they havn't gone **** up by now, basingstoke need another bike shop, other than nick robinsons, that would give motts a run for there money, and probaly put them out of business, which imho they deserved about 10 years ago.

Thats funny, my local Aprilia dealers have had a fall out with Aprilia and no longer have anything to do with them, I only bought my bike from them new in November. Hopefully they will still carry on servicing my bike, I also took the extended 2 years warranty out, now thinking I might have wasted my time.
The next nearest Aprilia dealers is miles away so I hope someone else pretty local takes over.
:rant

FFS Beanie, say what you really mean will yer:nana
I can't comment on Motts as I deal with them for work and the only things they've done for me are MoT the bike and sell me some expensive Silkolene - both quite difficult to screw up. GarethH can tell you an amusing story about them though.
I hear good things about Just Motorcycles in Beastlystoke - talked to him a couple of times and seems to know what he's talking about servicing-wise - not a dealer though.

Yeah, danny's sound, known him for about 15 years now, he used to work at nick robinsons, but started out on his about 6 years ago, certainly knows what he's talking about and is a really nice guy.

Motts not being an aprilia dealer is no great loss, they are a bunch of arrogant monkeys!

went in there the other day to get some shims for my 00 mille r for it's 9000 mile service and they were most unhelpful. said they were running down aprilia parts as they were no longer a dealer.

i went to nick robinson first as i get my mots done there and have had some service work there before and been satisfied but they didn't have any. he sent me up the road to dynotech and the bloke there was absolutely ******* clueless. the place was an absolute tip as well and their customer service was diabolical. avoid at all costs.

is 'just motorcycles' the one up by ats, near the snooker club?

the nearest aprilia dealer to me is tricounty motorcycles in bracknell. the parts man is very helpful but the owner doesn't know how to deal with customers. seems like he just runs it for his own pleasure. his main business is ktm though.

don`t know if it`s any good to ya but when i did my shims i rang speedaway , gave them the size they had in stock it arrived next day
spot on......

thanks for that. would have been useful except that i didn't have a micrometer to measure the originals to know how big then new ones would need to be. i now do, so next time i will look at them :thumbup

The Sales Manager there assured me they were still going to be doing Aprilia parts to 'support the customers who have bought bikes off us' FFS.:jack
