Been out and about and done a couple of hundred miles on the old Tuono today, generally having a blast riding up to Rivington Barn and back but a couple of niggles are starting to bug me.

The rear brake, where is it on a Tuono?, all I seem to have is a switch for adjusting the brightness of the rear lights :) it doesnt seem to contribute anything to slowing the beast or holding it on an uphill junction. Is constant bleeding the only answer or is there a better way?

The bike seems to be geared to break the land speed record, top is virtually redundant and in slow traffic its constant clutch slipping. There's a receipt in the history for C & S Front 17 Rear 42 which google tells me is std. So what does those who know recommend, down 1 on the front? up a couple on the rear? or just ride faster you great big girl :)

-1 on the front, it's the first mod you should do. Some go +2 on the back, but I havn't bothered as the front keeps popping up as it is

re the rear brake - there is only one known cure, a set of AP rearsets that relocate the rear brake reservoir onto the heel guards, away from the heat of the engine. With the standard set up you can bleed them as often as you want but it'll only ever improve things for a few hundred miles.

Cheers, I'll get a 16 front when its time to get some new ones and I can probably live with the crap rear brake and just bleed it on MOT day :). Its not like the fronts are lacking in stopping power.

Go up 2 on back as well. I had standard like you and stuck with it for a year then changed it. Stil don't get into 6th much but it's worth the improvement.

Nowt wrong with my rear brake. Funny how some are ****

my rear brake is rubbish too, I bleed it before mot also, it works for a while then. The engine braking makes up for it tho'

Mine hardly works at all. Passed MOT the other day though, braking force required to pass must be minimal as I don't think mine would hold the bike on a hill-start anymore.

Cheers buddy. I am 5'8" not 4'8". I think, though I've probably started shrinking by now.

;)
Is that with shoe lifts in?
I jest with you mate. U've stopped getting agressive on here now. I must have had a claming influence on you.

Diddums. Wife had you hoovering round the house eh. She'll be telling you that you need to sell your bike soon (damn she already has).
Now put your trousers back on and tell her who's boss.

No still hungover from Saturday. Massively hungover yesterday, still dog tired today :(

She hasn't told me to sell the bike but she's moaned 'you're always spending money on your bike or car, why do you need two forms of transport etc. etc.'.

Yawn.

My missus has the occasional rant about me having a car & three bikes.

She got re-calibrated when I pointed out that when I spent a fortune on a new kitchen the quality of the food did not improve.

And your still alive, my missus has her own bike. No moans, just have to remember the transfer rate with the cost of stuff. :thumbup

Yes I was reminded by the wife it's mothers day soon and she'd like a bag and mug. My reply was 'that's nice why tell me as you're not my mother plus our 3 year old hasnt even whispered a peep about it to me yet.'

Bay, Tricky,
Good points, well presented.

I must remember to do an inventory / stock check of the wifes wardrobe so that when she tells me " I have had this for ages", I will know she is not telling the truth.
