Im in the market for some new boots and reaaly fancy some Alpinestars SMX + as they get gppd reviews from my mates.

Then again Sidi's were quite good a few years ago when I last looked.

I want good protection and a good fit race boot.

Any thoughts welcome.

I've had a pair of Sidi's for last 10 years, really comfy and started out with good rain protection, even though they are not waterproof. Leaky and filthy now so need to get a new pair, and will probably get same again. Only one spill in them and they were fine.

I have a pair of vertigos and like them. I like the Puma 1000 V3 quite a bit but $400 USD was out of my price range. The Vertigos are good boots and offer ample protections in the heel and ankle but seem to be a little light in the lower foot part. I feel that if I were to go down my ankle and heel would be very well protected.

Had a pair of MX + on today and felt secure but when your going to spend a big chunk of money on boots I want to make sure I explore all of my options.

Hi

Had Alpinestars years ago, changed to Dainese while racing over the last few years, and just bought some Sidi Vertigo boots. Really nice feel, lots of protection and heaps cheaper than the others from fc moto in Germany ($250 AUD delivered to Oz).

Regards

Dave

Thanks for all your comments, I ended up with the MX+ 2011 versions. They feel very secure although I've not had a chance to ride in them yet.
