Ally fuel tank

Hello.
Was reading a post from about Feb 2013 from a guy called Rohan of Vintage Auto World who said he might try
and make a batch of RSV tanks. Did anything come of it? Does anyone know of a company who has made them, maybe for
racing or something? Do they exist even? Thanks, Matt.

Why an Ally tank?:dunno Loads on e bay steel or RSVR plastic ones at good prices, got to be cheaper and easier to match what you have. Or are you making a special?

It was just that it seems plastic tanks are a major long term problem, i mean mine pisses out fuel and i can't even get it past the headstock
without modding the bolt hole at the back, so a second hand one could at some point do the same. BUT, is an earlier metal one a straight fit?
In which case that might be the answer. def. I want a long term solution, because 6 years of marriage and still in love. sad isn't it? Thanks for reply.

No nothing came of their alloy tanks, we sent them a gen1 and gen2 tank and never heard from them again. I am looking at another supplier as I want a light weight one for my trackbike. The early metal tank isn't a straight swap unfortunately.

Depending what colour there are a few brand new plastic tanks around at the moment ..... use fuel with a low ethanol content to help stop the swelling

Ok. Mine's matt black but gloss black would do. Where have you seen them?..and are they any cheaper than aprilia retail price!? There is a gloss black 04 mille tank on ebay at the moment, £250 or best offer.

Ears burning (cheers again Mark).

Yep, got a brand new 03 gloss black tank available to forum members for £250 plus shipping. They're over £2k new from Aprilia. It's on Ebay at the moment with a £300 start, our American cousins get very interested in them!
