Eg side stand parking, battery care etc Bit like a top ten tips etc Hope you get my drift anyway

I wish i hadn't clicked on that link....being a complete bozo I don't understand a word apart from 'brown'.....Crap! can't I just forget that my bike is a potential timebomb and just ride it ?!?

I noticed towards the end that someone asked the question of, "does it affect 05 - 06 models" and didn't get a reply. Also noticed that all contributors were from the States. Any UK bikes been affected that we know of?

At least these sites let you know of things to check BEFORE they cause a problem.

Yes, my 04 was close to meltdown, also went to do the job on my 06 and the brown connector has been removed on those models, there is still one at the rectifier which i removed, it is not a difficult job and is well worth the effort to remove these, it can be expensive if the stator goes AWOL, so my advice is get it done even if you have no signs of heat, mine was jsut caught in time on my 04 bike, get it done:thumbup

That site has some interesting advice and links :thumbup, blimey how much more info can you get !

Checked mine today and as you say one of them has been removed. The other looks perfectly good at the moment so I've left it in place. I was wondering if the battery condition indicator on the dash would show signs of problems with this connector? Lower power readings for instance?
