ok so im getting my rsvr 08 new in about 28 days and its one of the last ones that will ever be sold brand new in australia :D and i would like to get an alarm installed on it anyone got any brands they like? or know of a few good systems they would refer? any help is great thanks :D

I agree with bb1000 they don't do anythink apart from drain your battery. A thief will just pick your bike up and put it in a van.

I've got a Meta alarm and have no problems with battery draining as it is always on the optimate:thumbup

got a datatool one on mine was fine but then on a run it cut the engine managed to fire it up after a while but did it again week later so the immob side of it has been removed

its also to stop tools down the street playin with it and sitting on it and so on not so much to stop someone taking it no matter how hard you try if someone wants your bike they will get it alarm, sproket lock, chain, steering lock they dont stop ppl from taking your bike they just make it harder... also as i have had ppl tinker with my old bike would just like to avoid that all together with a loud alarm going off in there face XD

I have a scorpio alarm on mine, I have no problems with it.

and whats the scorpio like? features? how the alarm work? remote or key? how loud is it? has it ever gone off randomly have you got anything you dislike about it? how much did it cost you and how long ago?(if you dont mind me asking) sorry about all the questions

I installed the factory Aprilia alarm myself & was really impressed with how nicely it went on. Proper plug connectors & no splices or soldering.

The only thing is since the newer RSVs come equipped with an immobilizer, it now effectively has two. You need to make sure you "chirp" it before turning on the key, otherwise, you get a CAN error & it wont start until you turn the key on-off-on.

so you dont need a remote to use it? does it come with the option of a remote? how loud and where is it located? and if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost?
