Hi all

need to sort out the sowing machine sound ! (07 Tuono)

:)

so, lookin to buy a pair of akras or maybe even mivv gp's (new or S/H)

like the idea that the akras have the "road legal" stamp but also like the look of the mivvs !

havnt heard the mivvs ,so anyone nearby got some that i could meet up and have a listen too ? (live in harrogate, North yorkshire)
Also, are they easy to set up ?
For either - Is it a case of just swap to map 2 or does the c02 etc need adjusting ?
(dont really want to go down the PC route ......yet !)

Then there is the price,

can get akras new for £500 inc delivery (SP slip ons) ... Mivvs are a little bit cheaper..

anyone know of a cheaper place for either ?

any / all advice appreciated

Ta

Darren

ive got akras on my 07 with the baffles in just on map 2 and 15t sprocket , cost me 375 off fleabay, dont sound too loud never taken the baffles out .

ive asked this question 2 or 3 times on here and the aprilia forum because i couldnt make my mind up:bangheadtheres just so many to choose from, the mivvs and akra's look so different to one another,i really liked the sc project cans and also high level leovinces but price will be a step up from where the other 2 you mentioned are,
i wanted to be a little different so went for these micron's

i dont no if ive made the correct choice or not:dunnobut they do look a little different and i should have them tomorrow

The only owner I know who had Mivv's was Swearword Steve, AF1Windy's brother. I think he has sold his Tuono now, but I can tell you that the Mivv's are Ferkin LOUD

If that's OK with you and your neighbours go for it.

Looks like the Microns are a clean and neat set-up, in appearance. My son runs a Micron on his SV650 and it is arguably among the best sounding bikes out there. Looking forward to your posts on their performance end specs.

What about arrows?...got them on mine, stamped road legal and are a bit boomier than akra's, bit cheaper as well although i can understand trying something different....by the way johny, those microns look very tasty, are they loud? :cool2

Not loud, but rich, mellow, staddsy! Way, w-a-a-a-y improvement over stock.

Now remember, the SV just takes 1 can and the model is different from the one pictured above. I suspect there is interplay between a given silencer and a given motorcycle that may or may not translate.

I do get a kick out of the kids mc can, though. Many a time I stood behind his bike as he blipped the throttle or pulled away after a visit, and I got a substantial puff in the chest and face. One indicator, anyway, of a free flowing system.

Hi Johny. I was up your neck of the woods early May to see the Cold water surfers do there stuff. Pity I never saw any posts or threads from you then. I've got the mivv suono's, at least you could have seen and heard them. Your Microns look brill IMO, hope you love them.

Hi sean. I don't know anyone else with the suono's on a T. Could you enlighten me about the probs that were encountered. Cheers.

yeh pitty that, ive not been out much for a while after been down to aberdeen for surgery on my back for the second time in the last year and just cant wait to get back out on the bike(this is the reason i moved from sports bikes to the more comfortable tuono and got to say i should have tried one long ago,im just delighted with it)
to be honest ive only ever heard the tuono with akra's on and it would have been nice to here the mivvs,it took me around 1-2 months before i made up my mind on what pipes to go for:banghead:yes i just got the microns from mr postie this morning and not had the chance to fit them yet but they do look good and a very good finish on them, they should sound a good bit louder than the stock pipes bye looking at them and the db baffle is quite a decent size,
the mivvs you have was very expensive when i priced them:no
when you was up thurso did you stay a while or just the day?do you do a little surfing yourself?

:cheersjohny

I use to windsurf mid to late 80's. Loved it and one of my bros mates a Kiwi was a world class surfer. He lent me a board and I was hooked. I love the water, but I didn't know how good and big it was up top. I've been on Tiree for the Wave Classic twice, I thought that place was great. Thurso on the other hand blew my breath away, Scotland with rideable waves of that magnitude? A very long ride and the weather was piss, on the way there I thought about turning for home three times but stuck to the job in hand. So glad I did. Thanks to O'Neill for their vision and sponsership and of course The Region for not being old farts. What a Day. I forget all the trip stats now but I think thats when the trip1 read 132.

spoke to a few folk about the mivvs when a was thinking about them, and they were meant to be a pig to set up for fuellin etc, so went for the easy option of bolt on away ye go, maybe the mivvs are ok, i just didnt want to risk blowing more wonga

Hi
Have fitted Carbon Arrows to my 06 T , picked up some minor damage whilst in for a service, all parts are easy to get hold of,just a thought.
