airbox mod

hi guys has anyone just taken the top of the airbox lid off and fitted air filter socks for each throttle body,surely this would give you the same effect as the renegade mod and would be a lot cheaper ive seen two pipercross going for £28,maybe incorporating the evo seal as well:biggrin

tried it once, nearly killed me, it sucked the filter into the throttle body, jamming it fully open throttle , had hit the kill switch

yeah i did think about that you could allways make a simple cage to fit into the filter to stop it collapsing:biggrin ive seen these as well if you scroll down they do one that fits over both bodies http://ramair-filters.com/motorbike/frames-motorbike.html

Wow scary! I would've thought that the filters are designed for fitting straight to the trumpets or throttle bodies and by their free flowing nature and if not too liberally coated in oil and cabletied in place, would not be influenced by the TB suction? Anyone else had any problems with these?
