Air box, what's going on here

Just lifted the tank on my new bike and on looking at the air box there seems to be no top fitted and an alloy ring fitted around the top where the top and bottom should meet.... Is this normal. See pic to get better idea

You have an evo airbox conversion

The rubber seals against the tank....basically enlarges the airbox volume.

No doubt there is a different EPROM in your ecu as well.
 
Yes there is a dif eprom that came with the bike.... I need to replace the air filter any recommendations and also I noticed a broken or disconnected wire, see pic, is this correct or do I need to reconnect?

Air filters call Aprilia performance see what they recommend as they supply that air of kit

As for the wire that the power to the tps (throttle position sensor) it gets used for the power commander 12v feed so someone has removed a pc3
 
Here is mine. Any motorcycle shop will have this filter.

If your wanting the stock airbox I have one laying around.
