hi not sure on what air box to get weather the renegage or evo phoned southern cross today they have the renegage the only thing that put me off is that the oil breather pipe is located down by the chain thought it was a bit unsafe as close to the tyres if sprays out ,on the 2003 model they mentioned about changing the rubber inlets under the airbox to the 2000 model as they have larger bore size never heard off this ,was looking at just possiblibly changing to a k@n replacement not sure if it would make any real difference so asking the experts here.

I have a 2004 tuono so it's the same as the 2003 Mille. I fitted a K & N filter and it made no noticeable difference.
I then fitted the Renegade airbox and that did - and how! I ran the said pipe down to my chain as described. As I never get oil coming from there it's not an issue. However, some people fit some sort of container at the end of the pipe and check it regularly. Others have been known to loop it back into the airbox space and fit a filter to the end of it. Whatever you feel confidend with.

I have ran the Rene on both of my Aprilia's and agree that I don't like the idea of running the vent anywhere near the back wheel..

I have a small K&N breather that I have connected to the pipe and it vents under the tank by the front cylinder.

Hi,the k&n on its own aint gonna make a great deal of difference, would defo go with the rene, its worth it just for the sound :thumbup.as for the breather pipe, dont worry not a lot of oil comes out of it,or you could do what i did and drill a small hole into the front sprocket cover and run the pipe into that.

You can modify it with a Crankcase breather filter fitted to the plate. Like Ive done on mine. Take a look in me garage :pirate

I've seen Sabre's breather filter myself as another member, (who I know) copied his design. It's very good and I would have copied it myself but I didn't fancy drilling a hole in the carbon fibre base plate. Maybe I ought to fit one and secure it somewhere else on the bike.

nothing ever comes out of mine if you keep the oil at the right level :thumbup
