would you expect the bike to turn in more easy at low speeds, cos mine does ....:confused feels like it does when you get new tires fitted if that makes sense

put the forks to factory settings so maybe needs tweaking a bit :biggrin

If you have less viscocity, yes, as it will compress easier meaning a lower front meaning faster turn in, basically the front will have a softer feel if the oil is thinner

May be wrong but surely post change viscosity would be greater, not less................

suppose it depends how bad/good they were before the oil change?

what condition was the old oil in?

did you bleed the dampers (pushing up and down on each fork leg loads of times after the re-fill)

from what i've learnt over the last few weeks stripping my forks down it doesn't take much to change how they feel, especially on the geometry front when putting them back in the bike, ie distance each fork leg is thru the yokes, pre-load height etc, let alone the air-gap and the viscosity of the fork oil.

with the old oil you might of just been riding around the poor damping quality so the new stuff just feels different.

the old oil was dark crappy and very thin, 18000 miles old.........just getting used to forks working as they should i suppose.....will check settings and go for another test ride tomorrow

he could have used an oil with a different cst which is very likely

the forks are about 3 mm higher in the yoke.....going to move them down a bit i think....dont seem much but as i raised the rear a few months back its making a difference

they do appear to be sensitive machines, you can feel every change you make, which i never could on any of my other bikes.

maybe now i have actually spent the time and effort to strip and analyse the suspension on the mille, i can appreciate each little change i do and can feel it more

who knows:dunno

glad to see you have looked and can see where the different feeling might come from
