Advise on rear sprocket renewal

Hey up!

Haven't posted on here in months but need some advice.
I'm not getting out anywhere near as often as i used to so the bike aint gettting as much TLC as it used to.
I'm going on tour around Scotland in a couple weeks and so I've got no choice but to change the rear tyre as its buggered but in doing so it's highlighted just how wrecked the rear sprocket is.
It's an aluminium renthal jobby. I've checked the chain with my chain gauge and it seems fine plus ive visually checked it and theres no damaged o-rings or stiff links.
So....can I change just the rear aluminium sprocket and not the steel front and chain and get away with it?
I've never done it in the past but ideally i don't want to blow a load of money for one last ride befor it gets put away for the winter.

Many thanks,
Wizbit

yeah of course you can ..fit a steel one so it lasts longer ( and cheaper)

experts wouldnt recomend it no doubt as they say you should swap them all so they wear together

i think he wants to change the sprocket just for the remainder of this season. if so, go for the al one, it's cheaper... :)

Cheers for the replies lads and soz for my late response!

Yeh as stress says, just looking to see the season out so think i'll drop an alloy jobby back in to get me by!
Stuff paying £160 for a kit.
