Advice & Suggestions Please Mille "R"

Hi Guys & Girls

I am looking for a nice Mille "R" preferably between a 02 & 03 model.

I have found one on EeeeeeBay however I am slightly puzzled and perhaps cautious by the style of the fairing and the graphics.

As the advert states this is a 03 model, I cant help to wonder that the fairing and decals seem to reflect that of the earlier models circa 99-00.

Can any of you guys & girls cast an eye over this advert and I will be grateful for any suggestions/remarks or criticism you may have.

alright dude!
this is an 03 bike but registered in 06 with the wrong seat unit...the sticker are all wrong as well ....

The black frame is the giveaway for the 03 model......

is this an old race bike?? why has it got the wrong tail unit on it?? is the swing arm marked where the pipes would have touched it if it went down .......is the frame marked where the pedals would have toched if it went down....ask for proof!

looks clean enough from the pictures!! but that seat unit screams........closer look required! check for lock wire holes in sump plugs and caliper bolts etcetc!

Bought my 2002 RSVr in November last year and this bike was up on e-bay then. Was up for a lot less money then as well. Made contact with the guy and he said it had been imported new from America. Not 100% sure about year changes but i think it looks like a 2000/2001 model. Sure some of the other guys on here will come back to you with some more accurate info

Looks like quite a tidy bike albeit made up of many varying parts.

My advice would be to go take a closer look, have a ride and see what she feels like, if it handles poorly then walk away.

If it makes you smile from ear to ear then buy it as long as the price is right.

if you wanna date the bikes frame correctly then look for the 10th digit on the chassis number if its an 03 it should read 3 if it anything else it will read
2 for 2002,
1 for 2001
6 for 2006! etc etc!

saying that mine says 2 but its an 03 model...teehee!! cos mines a press fleet bike!

As alan say mate if the bike rides straight and youve located the crash damage if any then you can sort out whatever may come your way without any bother anyway! just have a good looky see and you can make an informed descision from there!!

As the guys have said it looks clean but it's a parts bin special, Why? 2003 frame, wheels and tank, 2000 model rear end and fairings, it must have a history this bike

You could have Gasboy's lovely Edwards Rep for similar money

Hi Mate

And thanks guys/girls thus far for the comments. I tend to stay away once my suspicions are raised whether its a good thing or not I don't know, but in this current climate one cannot be too cautious.

I have already emailed Gasboy and hopefully all being well, I might soon own a tidy Mille.

Even it has radial brakes as 2003, but the front fairing isnt it pre 2001 and the head light as well?

Step away matey, step away, parts bin special = dodgy history
shop around theres paleeenty good ones out there, loadsa peeps hardly put any miles on their bikes

mate i can vouch for this one its a stunner ,and touched by the hand of god himself [griff] trust me/the zone ,also your getting a limited edt too sooooo.....do it do it do it :biggrin .....no im not on gassers commision lol:thumbup
