Sometimes when i ride i get the old numb hands sindrome which i never used to get with me old 07 T . So i was messing about in the garage yesterday and thought i would just adjust the bars slightly , slackened the bolts off and just rotated them about 5mm at the clamp towards the front wheel ...... well **** me wot a difference that made , its bit like the motox days in that its lifted me elbows up a bit and it feels like im more connected to the front wheel and much better on the brakes .
I know it doesnt sound like much but sometimes its the simplist of things that work , and no numb hands today .

Feckin result i reckon .

You may now tell me im full of **** and talking out me *** .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................now !

Wot little tweeks have you lot done thats made a difference , might help some people on here ?

Shotgun..thats exactly what I dae wi maist o the bars on mah bikes. Wiz one o the first things ah did when a got the T hame. Ah like the bar position mair upturned...dinnae ken why, jist feels better for me.

Mibbe its cos ahm 6ft 1in wi gibbon like airms.

Hiya Sean, how goes it?

I rotated my bars forward soon after getting the T. I wanted to bring myself forward to get more weight over the front tyre (coming from a sportsbike I struggled to get much feel from the front at first). I went a bit too far initially and got sore wrists as a result, but I've since moved them back a bit (but forward from how they come from the factory) and they feel bang on.

Another thing I always do is play with the position of the levers and get them exactly how I like them - they tend to come set up too high as standard for me.

True that mate. Had a bit of experience racing motocross bikes over the years & fettled with bar positions.

As you say, having them too far back causes elbows down, the front feels a bit twitchy / light & you're not then riding in the attack position. Always had my bars so follow the lines of the forks & like you say makes you feel more connected to the front wheel and much better on the brakes.

Don't go too far forward though as puts all your weight over the front end causing ***** handling in & out of corners, well off road anyway. The front end will dig in when riding ruts or berms, probably not so much of an issue on tarmac? It will also make your hands & arms worse with increased arm pump as not a natural relaxed riding position. As G says. moving the levers to suit helps alot too.

Just my two pence worth but take it with a pinch of salt as I'm ***** on a bike anyhows :rolleyes

Lmao, off out to the garage now to adjust bars, leaving throttle where it is. I'll let you all await the *****, I landed on my arse thread.

No numb hands for me but absoloulty zero faith in the front since i got the bike a few weeks back , not how i remembered these bikes to be at all.

Straight down the garage i went after reading this and rolled the bars forward a few mm`s.Well fook me it`s like a new machine can hardly beleive it`s the same bike !

Faith restored again !!

shot, a buggered aboot wae the gear lever and dropped it down a good bit. I wis getting a cramp at the back of my left knee on long runs (8hrs+). I reckon that having to lift ma foot off the peg to down change wis causing it. It felt good on the fudfest run but the ridding time wis only 5 1/2hrs fir me. A should fun oot if it's sorted ma prob on ma next run though, should be a long one with limited stops.

r, the trip read somethin like 319.9mls, 133, 5.19hrs and 56. A know we were oot a lot longer than 5 1/2 hrs.

Feckin hell Aldo , my knees would be ****** after 5 1/2 hours in the saddle , mind you my knees are ****** before i get on the damn thing !

another tip for you,
I had a t595 a few years back that gave me numb hands, fit a heavier bar end( or roll up some roofing lead and stuff it inside the clip ons), cured the vibes on the trumpet.

D'ya know what Sean, i've never tried playing with the position of the bars as i love the way the T handles as it is, but as it's my first T i might just have a play with it and see how i get on !!
If it all goes ***'s i'll know who to blame LOL !!
