Hey y'all
So I received my OEM Aprilia tail bone bumper pad from Af1 racing and it doesn't have any adhesive on the back to stick it to the seat cowl. I informed Af1 and they said Aprilia sent them out that way and haven't offered any correction to the problem.:crazy They don't seem to know what to suggest for a proper adhesive given the porous surface of the bumper pad. Af1 did offer to refund the part but would rather find a proper fix. Any experience with such materials? What is the best industrial adhesive for such an application? Needing some expert advice as the little tid bit is rather expensive to experiment on and certainly can't afford to have the thing fall of while out riding.

Wurth do a very good black rubber bonder that is really good for this sort of thing

I would have thought that a double sided sticky pad would do the job. Some of that stuff ya use to stick car mirrors on.

I'd go with a 3M double sided adhesive tape too.

I bought an OEM one for my gen2, it came with double sided sticky tape.

It works well, tried to square it up because I'd put it on a bit skew whiff but it wouldn't budge.

Ok then,
have been eyeing some on ebay so will pick some double sided tape up. Add it to my variety of adhesives recently ordered:thumbup

If you warm it up a bit it sticks better too.....but don't melt the living **** out of it lol

Just a little waft with a hair dryer should do :)

Used to get Mrs Fud wae the hair drier,,,,,,,not too much mind,,,,didnae want her dryin oot altogether. :no :thumbup

I bought a used one once from a fettler of some repute...

Only had a ****** wood screw through the cowl into the pad !!!!!!!

feckin nob.

I bought one about 6 months ago and it came with adhesive strips attached.
From the AF1 catalog: Held on with five to nine 3M VHB series adhesive strips this piece sticks onto your cowl firmly and just flat looks cool.

Wood screws are renowned for their subtle cowl pad fitting qualities.....that guy knew his craft well lol

Just ordered some of that stuff last night so appreciate good words; course if it don't work guess I could try some screws--then start working on the bike again:yes
