Hi all,
going to moto gp in Barcelona in July and seeing if anyone has stopped there before? we're sailing to Santander then riding down so we're looking for somewhere to stop for a few nights with secure parking for 7 bikes, in fact just 2 secure spots for mine and me mates millie, cant see anyone wanting to pinch the other 5 jap bikes! :thumbup
anyone got any ideas, cheers, flash

I've stayed right in the centre, and parking can be a problem with city centre hotels. Most can provide secure parking off-site, but they charge between 7 - 10 euros a night.

I coughed up, cos I like the city buzz. We stayed slap bang in the centre, and the bikes were parked two blocks away. If you're not keen on that idea, there are plenty of good hotels on the outskirts of the city with free parking.

This is what the internet's for...get browsing dude!

hello mate, we paid £211 each but to cut down on costs we only booked one cabin and 6 recliners, the cabin is just to put our kit in and hopefully the topless dancers will keep us up, well we can hope!!

cheers alan, as im a fireman we're trying to contact the local fire station over there and see if we can park there, like you like the idea of staying in the centre

Good thinking.

I should also warn you about the prozzies over there. They come up to you in two's and three's and are all touchy-feely. Or one of them is, cos the others are nicking your wallet. My brother got robbed, and quite a few other brit bikers too. If you take your wallet out with you, keep it in a front pocket or one you can fasten.

hi we stayed there in 2007 in centre hotel close to ramblers and beach, hotel had underground car park but cost about 8 euros a night not too bad at least your bike will still be there in the morning .cant remember name of hotel but my mate who orgainised trip will know let me know if you need it .............

Hi,

I didn't realize you wanted to book in Bcn city. Since it is july, you may want to be by the beach. Something like Barceloneta should be nice. It is well connected to the city centre by tube or even walking up las ramblas. If you cannot get free parking through your colleagues firemen try to negotiate the price for the hotel parking from here. You may be lucky and get it for free or at a reduce rate.
